  • About the Sejongro State Forum

    The Sejongro State Forum was founded in 2005 by members of the Korea Society of Civil Volunteers (KCIVO) to foster advanced citizenship and promote the community development so that Korean society can leap forward into an advanced society.
    There are currently about 500 active members. As the largest group of expert volunteers in Korea, it is active as a governance network for national policy and social development.

The Sejongro State Forum is held at the Plaza Hotel in front of Seoul City Hall on the morning of the third Thursday of every month from the 1st forum on September 23, 2005 to the present, the 20th year. Each member pays the membership fee for meals, and the operation of the forum is divided among the members based on the principles of decentralization, autonomy, and responsibility.

the Sejongro State Forum is the only state affairs forum in Korea. Every month, the minister or vice minister of the Korean government attends as a speaker to explain the relevant national policies and receive policy suggestions from the participants.

Since the Sejongro State Forum is a open forum, anyone with expertise in their field is welcome to participate. And since it is an public forum, anyone who agrees with the purpose of the Forum and is willing to practice its activities can be recommended and become a member.
The Sejongro State Forum has three missions. The first is governance with the government that helps the Korean government to do its job well, and the second is governance with citizens to promote the globalization of national consciousness. And the third is governance with countries around the world so that the whole world can enjoy peace and prosperity.

Members of the Sejongro State Forum practice specific actions called the three righteous actions to carry out the above three missions well.

The first is to listen carefully to the government policy explained by the minister or vice minister and spread it to the public. The second is to activate policy discussions so that the people can actively propose new policies to the government. And the third righteous action is to campaign for all citizens to become good persons.

In particular, to become the third good person, The Sejongro State Forum recommends the following three codes of conduct to its members. First, practice love with consideration and compassion, second, practice the principle of justice that distinguishes between public and private interests, and third, actively participate in social contribution activities.

The Sejongro State Forum will continue to strive to ensure that individuals, families, society and the world become healthy. we hope that many people will participate as members. thank you
